On February 23rd, YG Entertainment stated that the music video surpassed 1.5 billion views on 6:30 PM on the same day.
Released on June 2018, this is the first time a K-Pop group's music video has hit the milestone.
The music video also has the record of being the firsst K-Pop music video to reach a billion views back in November 2019, and it soon expanded into 1.5 billion.
"DDU-DU DDU-DU" is the lead single for Blackpink's first EP "SQUARE UP". Soon after its release, it hit No. 55 on the Billboard "Hot 100", the highest record for a K-Pop girl group at the time.
Blackpink currently have three music videos with over 1.1 billion views, and 26 videos with over 100 million views. Blackpink's Youtube subscriber count is currently at 57 million, putting them at second highest just under Justin Bieber for musical artists.
