[MHN Jeeyoung Shin reporter] A mind-blowing lineup of lead casts, Lee Byung Hun, Park Seo Joon, and Park Bo Young, has gathered to film for a brand new blockbuster disaster film, ‘Concrete Utopia’!
‘Concrete Utopia’ tells the story of people at an ordinary apartment complex, picturing Seoul after a disastrous earthquake. While most of the city has been destroyed by the horrific natural phenomenon, the ‘Hwang Goong Apartment’ becomes the only concrete structure to stay undamaged. The occupants soon face dangerous threats from the outsiders trying to invade the residential building.
In the film, Lee Byung-hun signed up to play Young-Tak, a man who leads the others inside their apartment complex when they start to go out of control in response to the turmoil. To protect the residents, Park Seo Joon plays Min-Sung joining Lee Byung Hun as a morally civil servant.
Meanwhile, actress Park Bo Young plays Min Sung’s warm-hearted wife and a nurse, Myung-Hwa. She takes care of injured people from natural calamity and treats them well.
The film is originally from the webcomic ‘Pleasant Neighbors’ by artist Soong-young. It serves as the second part of his first webtoon titled ‘Pleasant Bullying.’ It gained much attention on Resin Comics From January 2015 to the conclusion in February 2016.
Uhm Tae-Hwa directed ‘Concrete Utopia’ in five years since the last work of supernatural friendship movie called ‘Vanishing Time: A Boy Who Returned’ in 2006.
